  Ulyana Gumeniuk

The painter Ulyana Gumeniuk was awarded the Fellow Commonership in the Creative Arts at Trinity College, Cambridge in the summer of 2009.

Over the next two years she will be resident in Trinity College and working in a large studio near the Cambridge railway station.

During this time she will be painting a series of works on large canvases.

“ I am interested in investigating the tradition of 'high art' of the history painting and looking at it for the new age.

I would like to create a set of big paintings that would refer to what is going on now with regard to politics, economics, ecology, finance and so on.”

From time to time I will report on Ulyana’s progress during what will be a tremendously important period in the career of a painter of considerable potential who has been given a very rare opportunity.
